Thunder Chicken was born in the summer of 1990. Bruce Wuollet, (who had previously been a guitarist in the band Orange Pirates, later called [[Nobody's Children]]), had convinced his good friend Kevin Habberstad to buy an electric bass from the Sears catalog. Kevin bought the bass and taught himself to play.

At the beginning of the summer, Lyle had bought his first drumset, a blue-flake mix of Slingerland and Ludwig brand drums. He too taught himself how to play. Hearing of this, Kevin and Bruce had asked their friend Lyle to join them. The experienced guitarist and the two self-starters practiced frequently in the basement of Bruce's mother's house. They played many cover songs from bands like Green Day, The Pixies, All, Danzig, The Misfits, and Nirvana. During this summer they also began to write their own songs.

Tragedy struck the band at the end of the summer. Bruce was moving to Shakopee, MN to live with his father. Despite the distance of their guitarist, Thunder Chicken managed to stay together. They practiced and played shows whenever Bruce came home to visit his mother and in the summers when Bruce stayed in Minot. During the summer of 1992 they recorded their one and only self-titled album. It was produced by Steph Gylden at the recording studio at Minot State University.

The distribution of their cassette was rather disappointing. Though all 300 copies of their tape sold, Thunder Chicken had failed to capitalize on the burgeoning punk and alternative scene in Minot. Succumbing to geographical distance and in-fighting, Thunder Chicken disbanded in the summer of 1993.

They played many cover songs from bands like Green Day, The Pixies, All, Danzig, The Misfits, and Nirvana. During this summer they also began to write their own songs.

Tragedy struck the band at the end of the summer. Bruce was moving to Shakopee, MN to live with his father. Despite the distance of their guitarist, Thunder Chicken managed to stay together. They practiced and played shows whenever Bruce came home to visit his mother and in the summers when Bruce stayed in Minot. During the summer of 1992 they recorded their one and only self-titled album. It was produced by Steph Gylden at the recording studio at Minot State University.

The distribution of their cassette was rather disappointing. Though all 300 copies of their tape sold, Thunder Chicken had failed to capitalize on the burgeoning punk and alternative scene in Minot. Succumbing to geographical distance and in-fighting, Thunder Chicken disbanded in the summer of 1993.

Thunder Chicken was born in the summer of 1990. Bruce Wuollet, (who had previously been a guitarist in the band Orange Pirates, later called [[Nobody's Children]]), had convinced his good friend Kevin Habberstad to buy an electric bass from the Sears catalog. Kevin bought the bass and taught himself to play.

At the beginning of the summer, Lyle had bought his first drumset, a blue-flake mix of Slingerland and Ludwig brand drums. He too taught himself how to play. Hearing of this, Kevin and Bruce had asked their friend Lyle to join them. The experienced guitarist and the two self-starters practiced frequently in the basement of Bruce's mother's house. Ryan Anderson and Phil Leitch insist this band never existed because they never saw one of their two shows. Dr. Starr was a freeform, loosely-organized, noise side project led by Justin Seng. They never practiced, and the two appearances were impromptu sets of about 10 minutes or so. They did not really play songs so much as bludgeoned a simple riff or two for as long as their patience and the audience's patience would allow. Justin's lyrics were hilarious.

Eat Sinking Teacups (EST) was a group founded in Bismarck in 1997. they specialized in audio & performance art rather than music, although some of their songs could be classified as such, in that you could dance and groove to and what not.

Eat Sinking Teacups was active from 1997 until about 1999, due to most of the members going back to school in various parts of the country at that time, as well as focusing more on solo projects as well.

A band made up of 4 talentless musicians with very different musical background & interests that created a unique sound not like any other band in the F/M area at the time. (suck) They were a blend of alternative, jazz, & metal with fun light-hearted lyrics. Churchboy was our hit. We were going to make it.

Even though they weren't very well known in the F/M area, due to their sucking, they did not fit in with all the popular "hard, heavy, & loud" band during that music scene era. They were outcasts (losers) and thus tended to be forced to stick to gigs in coffee shops and the such.
