Fugitive Grey formed after Fred decided to buy a bass guitar. He had been a long-time Metallica fan and had just discovered Cliff Burton. He was already a big fan of Jason Newstad, but Cliff's impressive abilities forced him to pursue what has become a very integral passion and key to Fugitive Grey's sound.
Jeremy Stoneburner, a friend and co-worker, had been plotting to form a band since he met Pat Lipsiea, the son of their employer, who played guitar and had a friend who played drums, James Hastings.
The four got together in November of 1998 and started to jam on Weezer and Hendrix tunes. Soon many other influences started to creep into a band that's members had very few similar interests. The Misfits became a very big push to the bands' creativity, as well as Danzig. Early influences like Nirvana, Metallica and Everclear were put on the back-burner as the members became more involved groups Nine Inch Nails, Rage Against the Machine, Limp Bizkit, Slipknot and Primus.
The foursome have recorded their first demo and are very pleased with the turnout. Tapes are being sold faster than they are made and they hope to send some to some entertainment people soon enough...
They are no longer together as two members have other bands now, one is married, and one is possibly dead.
Fugitive Grey was a band that was formed in Mayville, ND in 1998(?)
